The "Environmental Sock System" was tested and adopted by the U.S. Navy/Marine Corps for Extreme Weather Conditions and practicality.

The TechSpun? "Environmental Sock System" substantially reduces the amount of socks needed to be carried in a ruck sack. Three Pair of the Coolmax? liners (which can be washed by hand and air dried overnight) and two pair of the TechSpun? Wool Boot Socks (which are indestructible and need to be washed less frequently) is all that is required. With the two sock components working together, we can control both the inner and outer environment at the same time. The fiber design features work together to provide maximum comfort in all seasons and in all weather conditions. Even though the wool socks and the liner socks can be ordered separately, they must be worn together for the system to be effective.
